ST IVES BIATHALON
St Ives Biathlon is an annual event organised and run by the St Ives Surf Lifesaving Club which is all run by volunteers. Helped by sponsorship from local businesses this was the first event for some time due to various reasons.
Each year it pulls in entries from around the country and many a local gives it a go. It’s a run across the harbour up the hill and all the way to Carbis bay beach. Once the athletes reach the beach they pull up their wetsuits and jump in the sea for a swim back to the Harbour. Juniors can do a shorter version where the run to and swim is from Porthminster Beach.
